West Berkshire
Parent Carer Forum

Empower and enable your voices to be heard

Welcome to West Berkshire Parent Carer Forum!

We are a friendly group of parent carers who have children with special educational needs and/or disabilities aged from 0 -25 yrs.

We want to improve our local services, and by coming together as a collective, we can and do make changes. We are always happy for more people to join us, there’s no charge to join, and we are a relaxed fun group, So if you would like to be part of a friendly bunch of people who would like to see SEND changes in West Berkhire, we would love to have you

As a Forum we can support and train parent/carers to enable you to have your voices and opinions count, and to be involved with shaping services alongside professionals who provide health, education, adult and social services.

Our shared mission is to improve and enhance the experiences and opportunities of children and younge people with additional needs, by enabling parents and carers to be heard, and to be at the heart of decisions about development and delivery of services in West Berkshire.

The Forum represents the views of the collective community and not an individual voice. We are unable to advocate for individual families, but signpost to specialist services.

Call for help! Your opinions required πŸ˜ƒ

We have been asked by Berkshire West School Years Service if we could look at a draft questionnaire survey for parents and carers who have a child that has recently transitioned or is about to from paediatric care to adult care.
The questionnaire needs to be read over, and any comments and suggestions for change made to us, who will then feed it back to the School Years Service.
If you would like to take part in this project, please contact me '@' fionaworby@roseroad.org.uk, and I will send the draft out to you for comments.

This is a great opportunity for parent carers to ensure the right questions are being asked by a service.
I look forward to hearing from you.
